AWAS AND MAGIC

The world of Ogyon was said to be created by five gods, called the Awas in Delta. They are often described as forces of nature in their own rights, each Awa holding up an aspect of existence. In Scamp cultures, the main celestial bodies of the world are seen as manifestations, or even synonymous with the Awa itself.

MAGIC

Magic was imbued into the world through the Awas, and Scamps can harness the energy of the Awas by making sigils, glyphs which utilize the energy from one or more Awas. Scamps who make use of sigil magic / sigil arts are called sigil artists. All Scamps are capable of using sigil arts, specifically with their blood as a medium. However, using sigil arts is not easy, and it's also said that all good sigil artists are at least a little crazy.

NOM

Nom, the Awa of life and energy, is said to be the strongest, or the most principal Awa in many Scamp religions. It's sometimes said that Nom and Skëuvok have a deep relationship and are complements to each other, the two of them being what creates the transient, impermanent, or perhaps empty nature of beings. Nom's celestial body is the sun.

OGYON

Ogyon, the Awa of matter and material, is said to be responsible for the world itself, the entire planet being the Awa, and thus all matter. Scamps often describe the aspect of Ogyon being form. Ogyon's celestial body is Ogyon itself; rather, the earth of the Scamps.

GYUNU

Gyunu, the Awa of space and movement, is said to be responsible for the orbits of all the celestial bodies, the winds, and the tides. Gyunu's celestial body is the gas giant which Ogyon orbits.

SKËUVOK

Skëuvok, the Awa of time and death, is said to be responsible either for causing death, keeping track of all that is meant to happen, or simply collecting departed souls and bringing them from this world onto the next. It is the compliment to Nom in most religions and schools of thought, and some religions like that of the Nuthusk people worship Skëuvok as the principal Awa. Skëuvok may also be said to be in conflict with the Doxubyur; Skëuvok's tracking of fate and all that is meant to happen, and the Doxubyur being the breaking of said fate.

DOXUBYUR

Doxubyur, the Awa of entropy and probability, is said to gamble on the future, rather than determining it. Some faiths say that the Doxubyur carve the path of time with a serrated blade, and are a force of chaos compared to the patience of Skëuvok. Those who are close with the Doxubyur claim them to have a "voice" that speaks to all happenings, and that the Doxubyur are masters at prediction. Perhaps the Doxubyur have their own will. The Doxubyur's celestial bodies are the asteroids that permeate throughout the cosmos, including the meteors which sail through the sky or impact Ogyon.
